We are delighted to welcome Carla Jones to The Farmers arms, as our Head Chef!
Carla is a well-respected head chef with an obsession for culinary excellence and an impressive and extensive hospitality background. Well known by the top chefs in the South West and a past contributor to The Exmoor Food Fest. She started in kitchens at the age of 14, later moving to London and earning a Certificate of Excellence from the renowned Pierre Koffman.
Carla’s talent and dedication to her craft were further recognised when she featured on MasterChef in 2018 and as Head Chef at the Seacliff Hotel in Devon was awarded 3 AA Rosettes and listed in the Michelin Guide. For the last two years she was Head Chef of the renowned Idle Rocks in St Mawes. Last year, Carla competed in the IKA Culinary Olympics in Stuttgart, representing England; the team came home with double silver medals.
Carla says “ Im very excited to be the new Head Chef at The Farmers Arms at Combe Florey, we have an abundance of amazing local sustainable produce on the doorstep and some remarkable suppliers. The Farmers Arms is a fantastic pub with a great history. I am relishing the opportunity to create wonderful dishes here. Together with my kitchen team we look forward to welcoming our Customers in the near future as we strive to put this part of Somerset on the culinary map” Carla will be joined soon by Sous Chef Aiden who worked alongside Carla at The Idle Rocks. Aiden is great young talent and we are very excited to bring you their amazing skills to Combe Florey.
